Suet Recipes: For the Birds & Other Small Animals Here's a fun project the whole family can enjoy. Not only will you have fun fixing up these tasty treats, but you will get to enjoy the wild life that stops by all winter long. Materials will vary according to the recipe you choose and your choice of container for the suet mix. Before you begin, it's a good idea to see what you have available as a container. See the following list of suggestions: * Large pot used to melt suet SUET Suet is available at most grocery stores or at a butcher shop or you can trim excess fat off beef cuts and store it in the freezer until you have enough fat for your recipe. To prepare you suet: When your ready to prepare
your recipe: *Note: when using peanut butter I prefer Teddy Natural - this contains no salt or preservatives - just peanuts. **Note: to prepare pine cones - line a cookie sheet with tin foil and place the pine cones on the foil. Heat them in the oven at no more than 250 degrees until the cones begin to dry and open up. |
