Our chipmunks have been
very busy adding new
products to our store.
 We still feature our
chipmunks on our mugs,
t-shirts, sweatshirts, and
hoodies, but we've also
added many new decorative
items.  We especially
like our new I-pod and
I-pad covers and new
items for babies in
addition to water bottles
and thermos containers.

Hope you enjoy your visit.

The woodpile is a great place to hang out and play games.

Furface deMunk in the woodpile by the stoop

Another of Chip E deMunks kids who frequented the stoop.  This chippmunk looks a lot like her mom. We lost sight of this adventuresome chipmunk after her first summer with us.

It appears, from our observation in the yard, that when a new litter is born the babies move into a vacant chippy hole close to their Mom's den.  This occurs when they are about six or seven weeks old.  While the females may stick close to the area in which they were born, the males tend to leave the area after the first year.  Sometimes the males will come back for a visit.  It's always good to see them again.  Unfortunately they don't stay long enough.

If there is a  litter of 3 or 4 chipmunks, they will each have their own den in close proximity to one another.  Mom keeps an eye on them, but she doesn't want them raiding her food cache, and the little ones have already learned not to share their food with anyone even their siblings.

Just before the next litter is due, the babies move out to make room for the new little chipmunks.  How long they stay in their dens depends on mom's birthing cycle.  Chip E. had a litter in the spring and again in the fall.  Ears on the other hand has one litter a year in the fall.  Often, they move into the woods and we loose track of them.  We are fortunate to have had Chip E. and Ears as permanent residents.
